timeline

Where It All Began

The journey began in 1990, when the founding family established their business in India, focusing on rice milling and grain trading. Over the years, the business grew significantly, establishing itself as a major wholesaler of commodities, with the family today operating one of the largest rice mills in India.

With complete vertical integration across the rice supply chain, the business brings decades of expertise in sourcing, processing, and delivering high-quality food products to markets around the world.

timeline

Oceania Chapter

In 2003, Mr. Suneet Gupta migrated to New Zealand with a vision of establishing the Oceania chapter of the family business. The journey was not easy, like many new migrants, he faced several challenges and took on various jobs in the early years while working hard to build a new life in New Zealand.

Through persistence, determination, and years of hard work, he eventually laid the foundation for the business, formally establishing MG International Ltd. in 2014.

timeline

New Zealand Market Gap

In 2014, Mr. Suneet Gupta identified an opportunity in the New Zealand market for premium Asian food products. While Asian products were already available, there was a clear gap when it came to high-quality, premium offerings.

Recognising this opportunity, he began distributing premium Asian food products to supermarkets across New Zealand, with a vision to bring authentic and high-quality ingredients to a wider audience.

Launched Own Brand

Kashish Foods began importing premium Basmati rice, lentils, beans, spices, oils, and mango pulp into New Zealand.

Trusted distributor partnerships were forged across India, USA, Myanmar, Australia, Argentina, Canada, UAE, and Africa, all underpinned by a commitment to ethical sourcing and strict quality control.

As the business grew, the team launched their own in-house brand, Kashish Foods, with a vision to build a distinct Indo-Kiwi identity in the market. Rather than operating solely as a trader, the goal was to create a trusted brand that could deliver authentic, high-quality ingredients tailored for New Zealand consumers.

Launch of Eden Valley Foods

To strengthen our end-to-end food supply capability, Eden Valley Foods Limited was launched as a sister company specialising in blending, milling, contract packing, and distribution across New Zealand, marking a significant step in vertical integration.

Today, Kashish Foods has established itself as a market leader in New Zealand across several categories, including NZ ghee, NZ milk powder, lentils & beans, and many other premium food products.

From Auckland to Every Corner of New Zealand

Warehouses were established across both the North and South Islands in key locations such as Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, enabling Kashish Foods to efficiently reach every corner of New Zealand.

This expansion also marked the beginning of key retail partnerships, strengthening the brand’s presence across major supermarkets and retail outlets nationwide.

timeline

Made in New Zealand

A landmark milestone for the company, Kashish Foods established its own state-of-the-art production facility in New Zealand.

For the first time, Kashish products began to be produced locally on New Zealand soil, enabling faster and fresher supply to Kiwi consumers while strengthening our farm-to-plate commitment.
