Kashish Foods is a proudly New Zealand-owned food brand, built on one belief, every Kiwi kitchen deserves access to authentic, high-quality ingredients from around the world. Founded in 2014 under parent company MG International Limited, we started from a garage in Auckland and grew into one of New Zealand’s most trusted food importers, with warehouses in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch serving the entire country.
We source premium Basmati rice, lentils, beans, spices, oils, mango pulp, flour, ghee, and milk powder from trusted suppliers across India, USA, Myanmar, Australia, Argentina, Canada, UAE, and Africa, every product rigorously quality-checked before it reaches your shelf. Today, Kashish Foods is proudly stocked at Pak’nSave, New World, Countdown, and Costco, bringing genuine global flavours closer to Kiwi families every day.
The story of Kashish Foods starts in India, where the family behind MG International built decades of expertise in rice milling and grain trading.
These deep agricultural roots shaped a vision, to one day bring authentic, high-quality food ingredients to tables around the world.
Founded by Suneet Gupta, MG International Limited was officially incorporated in New Zealand.
What started from a small garage in Auckland, with Suneet personally delivering food products in his own car, grew into a mission to connect Crop Field to Plate and bring genuine global ingredients to Kiwi households.
Kashish Foods began importing premium Basmati rice, lentils, beans, spices, oils, and mango pulp into New Zealand.
Trusted supplier partnerships were forged across India, USA, Myanmar, Australia, Argentina, Canada, UAE, and Africa, all underpinned by a commitment to ethical sourcing and strict quality control.
To strengthen our end-to-end food supply capability, Eden Valley Foods Limited was launched as a sister company specialising in blending, milling, contract packing, and distribution across New Zealand, marking a significant step in vertical integration.
Warehouses were established in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, enabling Kashish Foods to reach every corner of New Zealand.
This period marked the beginning of key retail partnerships with Foodstuffs NZ, Woolworths NZ, Costco NZ, ethnic grocery retailers, and food service providers nationwide.
MG International became New Zealand’s largest importer of Basmati rice, while TLG Agro, our dedicated rice mill, became the largest exporter of Basmati rice into NZ.
Kashish Basmati Rice crossed $2 million in New Zealand sales, cementing our position as a market leader in imported food ingredients.
The Kashish Foods FMCG portfolio grew significantly, adding milk powder, ghee, flour, lentils, beans, mango pulp, spices, oils, and plant-based proteins.
Supermarket shelf presence expanded across Pak’nSave, New World, Countdown, and Costco. Our social community grew to 9K+ Followers on Facebook and 11K+ Followers on Instagram, driven by recipes, food demos, and real customer engagement.
Kashish Foods became a recognisable face in New Zealand’s multicultural food community.
Highlights included a live Mithai stall at Costco NZ during Diwali, popular Mango Lassi demonstrations at the Auckland Food Show, and expanded brand visibility through billboards, bus-back advertising, and food blogger collaborations.
A landmark milestone. Kashish Foods established its own state-of-the-art production facility in New Zealand, officially registered with MPI (Ministry for Primary Industries) and approved for a Ready-to-Cook Food Manufacturing Licence.
For the first time, Kashish products are being produced locally on New Zealand soil, delivering faster, fresher supply to Kiwi consumers while strengthening our farm-to-plate commitment.
